Clodagh Kinsella is a writer and journalist. She often reports on travel for publications including Conde Nast Traveller, The Independent and BBC Travel, and has broadcast for BBC Radio 4. Along the way she has tried and failed to spot a snow leopard in Kyrgyzstan, danced with huskies in Svalbard and worn out her shoes on the Sinai Trail.
As a literary translator from French, she has recast the words of philosophers, film historians and authors – notably Michèle Bernstein’s novel The Night. She also co-wrote an adaptation of the book that was well reviewed in the LRB, Art Review and Times Literary Supplement.
She has worked as an editor and copy-writer for major names in the arts, tech and lifestyle sectors – and is a fan of cats and hats, which are usefully combined in the French: chats.
